Today at Maddie's school is "Donuts with Dad". The dads go to school (before school starts) and they get to read with the kids in their classroom and then go get donuts and juice. My girls look forward to it every year. This year Doug is out of town (and has been for the last 5 weeks!) so Maddie wanted our good friend (home teacher, adopted grandpa...), Doug, to take her. He was so gracious and accepted. This morning when he came to the door he was dressed to the "nines" in a sports coat and tie. He had a PINK corsage for her with a beautiful gold bow. I pinned it on and then he took her arm and lead her to the car. What a gentleman! We are so lucky to have these wonderful people in our lives! I hope that as Maddie starts to think about boys and then to date I hope she will compare them to men like Doug. She will know that no boy deserves her who can't live up to the example that has been shown. Thanks Doug!
