Think about it

So, last night I sat down with my family and asked them what their favorite things were from last Christmas. Not one of them mentioned the gifts they received (except Grandma's 12 days gifts- but even then it wasn't the gifts it was the activity) instead they all mentioned the activities we did. Temple Square lights, driving through Willard Bay lights with our good friends, Preston's light parades, etc... It really made me think. We talked to them about how things are tight for everyone this year and asked them to only ask Santa for 1 gift this year (we usually limit it to 2). We told them Santa had to work hard to take care of people who are having a hard time. They were ok with that. Then this was on the "Cut the Crazy" blog. I totally think it's the truth and something I'm keeping in mind this year!

Great reminder! It's hard for me to get into the holiday spirit when it's 70 degrees outside but I am going to try really hard to get into the spirit of the season - and to keep it simple along the way.
