C25K

I'm still working on it, the 5k, that is. It's frustrating. I think any normal human being should be able to jog a 5k. But, I'm sure struggling. I am having a hard time getting past the 10 min jog. I'm still going though and hopefully by Sept 19th I'll be able to do it! Here is an e-mail I sent to my running partner Shauntel. She's never been a runner before but started with me and she is doing awesome, totally an inspiration!

I want to tell you how proud I am of you! You are amazing!!!

I've been thinking this morning. We can't be discouraged. Like I said- I don't think this is any harder now than week 2 was for us then. We can do it! We've come too far to not "finish the race". I am going in today to register for the 5k. I hope you will sign up too. That way we are committed. There is no turning back.

For the last year, I've read a blog of a girl who had a little girl die. I've followed her through ups and downs been amazed and inspired by her. Well, she just ran a 1/2 marathon. In her blog entry she refers to the "penguin", he is a man who was a 43 year old couch potatoe and decided he needed to change his life he has now run like 25 marathons. I love his quote "The miracle isn't that I finished. The miracle is that I had the courage to start." For me, that was a miracle, now let's finish this!

You can do it! I agree. This week isn't any harder than week 2 was, it just sounds like it. Don't psyche yourself out by thinking about it, just turn on the podcast and do it. Think about the next step, not the next 10 minutes!

All of these words. Very inspiring. I CAN'T run! It would be the death of me. You go for it, Girl! Tell me and I'll come cheer for you at the finish line!!!
