Hmmm

I guess it's because the TV's not turned on but I seem to be thinking a lot lately. Anyway, one of the thoughts I have been thinking about was my conversation with my friend yesterday about being Super Mom. She said that she doesn't like to do anything unless she "can do it all the way". I told her that I think 1/2 way is ok sometimes. She said; "You don't ever do anything 1/2 way." I quickly told her that I feel like most the stuff I do is only half way. She said that it doesn't ever appear that way.

I've been thinking about that a lot since then. I think that I have finally come to terms with the fact that there is a lot of stuff that needs to be done in my life. I want to "do it all", I like to "do it all." (Or at least be involved in as many things as possible!) But, I've also come to terms with the fact that if I want to do all these things I can't search for perfection. It's ok, to "get the job done". Do it to the best of my ability and then move on to the next project. I'm not saying to do a crappy job but I have to come to realize that not everything has to be "over the top". I also think that it is better to have someone doing a job half way than not doing a job at all! I'm ok with this. Ok, just needed to purge that thought from my brain. I'm outta here, got another project to go "get done!"

I had a similar conversation with a friend yesterday, she doesn't do anything 1/2 way. I told her she needs to be like me and become "Mrs. Half-Ass." My problem is, I start something then lose interest and it never gets finished!

Sometimes you just have to get something done and move on to the next thing. I find that if I'm hanging on to an unfinished project for too long, it starts to eat at me and weigh me down, my mood and everything. I think it's just fine to pick and choose what gets done to your full capacity and what gets done so you can mark it off your list and start thinking about something else.

I am the queen of just getting it done. For example, I just made curtains for the babies room. I made them with ribbon tabs on the top. This is how it hangs from the rod. well when I got it up there, it hung to low. I didn't want to unpick and resew(I didn't have time for that) so I just pinned them shorter. You can't see the pins, and it saved me two hours. I love doing things like that. I just want it done. So by all means just "get R done."

I have always been amazed at how much you can get accomplished. For me, if I can get a shower in before 3 p.m., I'm happy.
