Have I mentioned that I love the 4th of July! It's probably my favorite holiday, right behind Christmas. Sometimes I wonder if it isn't just as good as Christmas. This year did not disappoint. Although, I have to say that my mom (who is spending time in California with baby Bella) was very missed!
We start celebrating the 4th on the 2nd. That is the traditional day that Hyrum does their fireworks. We went to Doug's mom's house and had grilled hamburgers, ate salad and YUMMY fruit salad. After we all went over to the soccer fields and let the kids ride the train, climb the wall and jump in the bounce house. Leslie & Ryan and their kids were there also Alesa and Justin and kids and Katie's friend, Noel, joined us. At dark we sat on Carol's front yard and watched the fireworks. This is one of my favorite traditions!

On the 3rd we went to the fireworks at the stadium with the whole Larsen clan. Doug and I weren't really excited about going, but because all the kids took nice long naps, we told them we would go. I'm so glad we went. This is definately one of the highlights. I love to listen to the music (this year it was an acapella group, Tminus5). I LOVE, LOVE, LOVE it when they play the armed forces anthems and have the veterans and military members stand- I always get teary eyed during this time. I am SO grateful for these men who have sacrificed for me and my family. They gave so much so that I can live here in freedom and safety! This year Bob Bennett (US Senator) spoke, what a great speech. He spoke about how yes, we are having troubles right now, but our history is one of trials and troubles. That is how we were founded. Then there was a wonderful fireworks show. Because the firework's company is local they give us a great show. What a fun night!

The 4th we started the day at the gym. Doug and I worked out, the girls swam and Bevan went to Kids Club. Then we went to Hyrum for the parade. It was wonderful weather. Because the parade is at Noon, it is usually HOT, but this year it was overcast so it was really very comfortable. We walked back to Carol's house where the kids were able to play for the rest of the afternoon and Doug grilled us YUMMY Rib Eye steaks. We came home and put Bevan down for bed and then the girls did a few sparklers.

It was a wonderful couple of days, ending with another fun day today. (Details coming in another post)

I'm so jealous of how you get to spend the 4th! We don't have half as much fun around here.
It sounds like a great couple of days. I love the 4th too. It is hard to be away from family though.
I love your new layout. Holly did a great job.
How fun! I love your fireworks pictures...I couldn't get mine to turn out very good.
I'm calling you today in a couple of hours...I need to find a quiet moment for a second, but maybe we could do lunch tomorrow???
