Let's Get Started!

I've been telling you that I have a lot to tell you and that I've been way busy. I guess it's time I start telling you about all that's been going on. So, I'll start with part of it. I guess that's the only way, I'm going to get it all down.

A few weeks ago our neighbor/counselor in the Bishopric call to see if he could visit with me. I knew I was in trouble! ;) A few weeks before I had been sitting in Sacrament meeting when I had the thought come to me that I would soon be in Young Women and that Sheri Egbert would be with me. I kind of brushed that off, until I got this phone call. When Mike came over he called me to be the Secretary of the Young Women, and sure enough, Sheri is the President. I'm so grateful for the preparation I had for this. Last time I was asked to be in Young Women I said yes but went home and cried. This time I was prepared and grateful for the opportunity.
We were sustained three Sundays ago. After Sacrament meeting we were set apart. What a wonderful opportunity these blessings are. In my blessing I was blessed with the ability to be detailed and thorough in my record keeping. It talked about how important those records are and how much you can know about the Young Woman through these records. I was also blessed with the ability to become friends with each of the Young Women. That this calling would not detract from my home life and responsibilities but instead will become a better wife and mother.

One of the other sisters received an amazingly detailed blessing. She was blessed with the ability to "be able to think outside the box to help a couple of young women who would be having problems in the next few weeks. As you help them through your struggles you will eventually be able to see their success." What a cool blessing! But I have to admit, I think I would have been scared!

I then left town for two weeks (more on that to come). When I got home I immediately had a bunch of Young Women stuff to do. Then to top that off, I had PTA to organize. What a crazy time! I am the President at Katie's school and this time of year is very busy, trying to get everyone trained and set up meetings, etc... I think I am on top of these things but I know that they will continue to keep me busy. This next week I have 3 Young Women activities/meetings to attend and 2 PTA meetings. Yup, I'll be busy! But, it will be fun!

So, that's the start. I'll tell you about my trips later. Maybe tomorrow...

I think it's fun that me, you and Andrea are in Y/W at the same time. We can get great ideas from one another! You are super busy, but you will pull through your week being on top. You always handle crazy weeks so well. Not me. I waste too much of my time making myself list after list and not getting anything done because I'm trying to organize it all! LOL!!
