First Day of School

The girls started school on August 20th. The long awaited day! We love school around here so the first day is a celebration. I very seldom feel sad about them going back because they love it so much.

Maddie had Mrs. H. The same teacher Katie had in 2nd grade. We love her! Although she does give a lot of homework. And I hate homework! :) Maddie is so good at her homework she often has it finished before she gets off the bus. Mrs. H. is an older teacher and very demanding but also fun and teaches the kids so much. We're excited to see what Maddie can accomplish this year!

Katie (or Kathryn which is what she goes by at school) has Mr. H. (no, the teachers aren't related) This is our kids first experience with a male teacher. I'm excited for Katie. I loved my male teachers! Interesting fact: all but one of Katie's teachers have been 2nd year teachers, crazy! He seems like a great teacher who has lots of incentives and positive things to help the kids work hard. He doesn't assign homework (hooray!) but if the kids don't finish their work they have to bring it home, so far, no homework, just spelling.

I'm excited for the girls! What wonderful things await...
