I start decorating whenever I feel like it. I always feel like starting to decorate in about October but I refuse to start before Thanksgiving, although this year I almost put up a "Thanksgiving tree"! I usually wish that I could start on Thanksgiving afternoon but we are usually busy having too much fun to get the decorations out. So I try to start that weekend sometime and then it takes me a week or so to get them all out. I have to say, without Doug, none of the decorations would be up. I actually don't really enjoy decorating the tree, but I LOVE to do all the rest of the decorations. Doug is so good and gets the lights on the tree and set up. Then the kids decorate the tree and I fix it later. This year was nice b
ecause the kids were tall enough to actually get the oranments up high and Katie was old to understand to not put them all in one spot! Maybe one day I will post a few pictures because I have to say, I LOVE my house at Christmas time!
I have also been very grateful for people with my decorating. One year, I was sick so I sat on the couch and watched Doug decorate the tree. Another year, I was on bedrest and Alesa came and decorated my tree for me! How grateful I am for these people!
Last night Katie's class was able
to do the program at Zion's bank "lights on" ceremony (that's when they turn on the tree). She had a speaking part and the whole class sang songs. Of course, I forgot my camera (bad mom!) but my mom had hers, unfortunately I didn't know she was there until the program was over. But, we got some great pictures of the kids visiting Santa. Although Bevan wouldn't sit on his lap, that big white beard it a little intimidating! Katie is a little on the fence with believing, but if you look at this picture she looks pretty in much in awe! Oh, I love Christmas!!!!!
